Out Boat: The MV Atlas
Designed by renowned naval architect Arthur Defever, the MV Atlas is a pilothouse trawler that rides comfortably in all weather conditions, with large windows so that you can appreciate the spectacular outdoors in rain or shine. The view from the pilothouse, portugese bridge and bow is ideal for wildlife viewing, photography and general relaxation. The aft and side decks are open but covered; again well-suited for inclement weather but also ideal for hot sunny days on the ocean. There is a swim grid for easy access to the skiff or loading into kayaks.
Atlas has two staterooms for privacy and comfort, and spacious and stylish salon quarters (that also convert into private sleeping quarters). There is a renovated washroom (head) with a separate shower. Her mahogany interior enhances the traditional, classic feel throughout her living and sleeping quarters. A fully-equipped and well-designed galley facilitates the preparation of spectacular fresh meals, and the large salon area is perfect for enjoying a tasty feast and toasting a great day with friends.
MV Atlas is an elegant and seaworthy vessel. She is registered with Transport Canada as a passenger vessel and is fully equipped with all required safety gear. Our friendly and knowledgeable captains are there to make this the trip of your lifetime – a responsibility we take very seriously! We are all local, and we know Gwaii Haanas as our backyard.
