When you confirm your reservation we will send you an information package by email and/or mail (whichever your preference). Included in the package will be a more detailed list of gear to bring along on your Gwaii Haanas adventure.
It is Haida Gwaii, and it is possible you will need everything from a tank top and sunglasses to merino wool and a toque on a single trip. In general, we ask that guests bring their own rain gear, clothing you are comfortable kayaking in, boots, and comfortable footwear. Most people like to bring their own camera and reading material, although we also have a library of local interest and reference books.
Come prepared but remember that this is a boat trip and storage space is limited. We ask that you leave framed suitcases at home and use soft, stowable bags or packs. Depending on where you stay in the Village of Queen Charlotte, you may also be able to arrange to leave extra luggage at your place of accommodation if you plan to stay on the islands longer than your Gwaii Haanas tour.
For those interested in fishing, bring a valid recreational (saltwater) fishing license. We have rods, tackle and other fishing gear on board for your personal use.
Finally, this is a trip on a boat in the wilderness. Our trips are as safe and meet all Parks Canada and Transport Canada regulations. We however must ask guests to read, sign and return a liability release form prior to your trip. We thank you for your understanding.
